Dual-A + DSE Dual-Track Pathway Unlocks Global Higher Education Opportunities
The Centre offers Dual-A Honours Courses (A-Level & AP), integrating the strengths of both British and American curricula to effectively support students in applying to the world's top universities. The Dual-A curriculum is underpinned by the comprehensive and holistic educational philosophy of the IBDP, while offering IGCSE and A-Level programmes that help students build a solid foundation in classical academic disciplines. At the IGCSE stage, we provide foundational subjects such as natural sciences to develop students' overall academic competencies. The AP courses offered also broaden students' horizons in the humanities and social sciences.
The newly launched Hong Kong DSE (Diploma of Secondary Education) programme, which is widely recognised by the eight major universities in Hong Kong, Double First-Class universities in the mainland, and prestigious institutions in Singapore and other parts of Asia, features a knowledge framework that closely aligns with mainland China's foundational education system, making it more accessible for mainland students. Leveraging the academic strengths of its home campus, the Centre has established two cornerstone initiatives: the "CUHK-Shenzhen Talents Programme" and the "CUHK-Shenzhen Preparatory Programme." The Talents Programme, modelled on the advanced cultivation logic for top talents in mathematics and science, is designed for students with exceptional academic potential. It incorporates mentorship from university-level experts, emphasising higher-order thinking in mathematics and science, as well as academic seminars, to nurture globally competitive scholarly talents through a pathway that consolidates foundational knowledge and introduces research at an early stage. The Preparatory Programme, meanwhile, deeply integrates CUHK-Shenzhen's educational philosophy and resources, guiding students to familiarise themselves with university-level academic standards, English-language inquiry-based learning, and self-directed study rhythms, thereby achieving a comprehensive transition from secondary school to university.
